Presenter: Dr. Stephen Werling, DBA, SPHR
The past year has brought increased sensitivity and awareness to four ongoing wage related issues: pay equity, fiscal responsibility, competitive wages, and legal issues. The potentially conflicting pressures of each of these issues require HR professionals to better manage the organization’s pay decisions. The presentation will provide Hill Country HRMA members with specific recommendations to improve their pay practices to address each of these issues.

Dr. Stephen Werling is a consultant and educator and with over 35 years of both consulting and academic experience. Dr. Werling received his Doctorate in Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management from the University of Kentucky, an MBA from the University of Dayton, and a BCS from Tiffin University. As President of Werling Associates, Inc., Dr. Werling has developed compensation systems and provided advisory support on compensation issues to over 250 organizations in the San Antonio, the South Texas area, and nationally. Dr. Werling recently retired from academics after a 45 year career.
